washing machine gearcase oil

I'm going to be repairing the gearcase on a whirlpool direct drive washing machine - model WTW5505SQ1. I was wondering if car transmission fluid can be used to replace the gearcase oil?

No.....car transmission fluid is not considered a gear lube.

You would need to use a 90w or 75w90 gear lube.

part locating help

A chest freezer I'm trying to fix up needs a new gasket (on the lid). I haven't had any luck being able to search/google etc to find that specific part for that specific model. Perhaps somebody else might have a better search method or know a source where I can get the lid gasket for General Electric model FCM 15SAB model chest freezer. Maytag DWU9962AAE Dishwasher leaking

Our Maytag DWU9962AAE dishwasher is leaking and I've tried replacing the gasket but it's still happening. I've read tons of things on it might be a split spray arm, the soap valve, the motor, but I honestly don't know much about dishwashers. Any thoughts on what it could be?Read More
