Dryer Troubleshooting
I hope I've posted this in the right part of the forum.
Just a few minutes ago, our dryer wouldn't start. When I would press the start button, it would hum, but not turn. So, I had my wife hold the button while I opened the door, pressed down the door switch, and manually turned the drum. It worked.
So, I let go of the door switch, the dryer obviously stopped turning, and then we closed the door and it started up fine. It seems to be working fine now. When it turns off, it goes back on fine.
So, is this a sign of the motor going bad? Problem with the switch? Thanks for any advice.

So....you'd rather be fishin.......cool
If yours is an electric dryer then you have posted in the correct forum.
It could possibly be a motor issue or more likely a slipping belt.
If you leave a make and model number for us we can confirm the belt and leave you a link to a parts list.

When you push start button does it make a humming sound? Humming sound is a bad motor, If makes a regular run sound could be belt.
