I made the mistake of washing a pillow in my stackable Maytag washer (model unknown; I am in a rental apartment, but responsible for any repairs to washer/dryer. I have no manual or paperwork. There is a sticker on the washer that says Commercial Maytag Duty). The pillow brought the drum off balance after the first draining, before the rinse cycle, and even though I pulled the pillow out as soon as I realized this (after 3-4 bangs), the damage was done. This has happened to me once before and cost me $130. Is there any way I can fix it myself without having to call the repairman?

My dryer doesn't get hot. I feel like I have trouble-shot the common problems: 1) Reset circuit breaker 2) Checked for proper air flow 3) Tested element with multi-meter, works fine 4) Tested thermostat and thermal cutoff, replaced both 5) Switched the leads to the element to see if I was inverted My dryer runs just fine but doesn't heat. Does anyone have any other ideas?
