Washer is completely dead - not lid switch, don't see an overload breaker ....
Looked through this site, but didn't find my problem--
Washer acts like it's unplugged- nothing at all --
its a Kenmore "All in One" stack washer/dryer, dryer works fine
so it's getting power- lid switch clicks and feels ok,
(this is older model, lid switch only deals with drain and spin,
fills and agitates with lid up or down)
found schematic inside, but no ''overload switch'' --
timer knob doesn't make the small ''grind'' sound it usually does when running -
I'm hoping it's some internal safety breaker,
or the timer has a connection that's really crusted up -
or maybe the timer itself died ....
does the lid switch have a hidden connection?
schematic shows it leads to the water level switch ...
I saw a capacitor mentioned in other posts,
I see a capacitor in the schematic connected to the motor 'start' switch ...
Next is to open it up and look manually ...
any ideas?
I know some electric stuff but not advanced ...
Thanks

Got it ...
Was the timer knob --
got the panel open, and all looked pretty clean--
watched the back while I turned and pulled the knob,
and saw the slider that moves when you pull and push knob was
moving, but not a lot -
so I manually shoved back and forth -- etc --
and that was it- spring is weak, or a bit of lint caught in there, maybe
wasn't seating enough to make a good connection...

It could be the start of a timer problem. At least you'll know where to check first next time you have that problem.
