Dishwasher stuck on drying cycle
I have a GE GSS1800Z01 dish washer that works fine, except that it gets stuck about 1/3 of the way through the "drying" cycle. The front dial that shows the washing progress ("normal wash => rinse => drying", etc.) gets stuck; to fix it, I just have to nudge the dial onward and then the dishwasher finishes as expected.
Can anyone suggest how to fix this? Nudging the timer dial every time is only mildly inconvenient, but it means I can't leave the dishwasher on when I go to bed. From looking online, it seems the timer might be broken -- is that easy enough to fix myself? (I'm a tenant!)
Thanks!
Neil

Appliance repair should be your landlord's job if the appliance was provided with the rental.
Since it has the old rotary dial & timer I'd say the timer needs replacing but since it's a $150+ part I'd just install a new dishwasher. That's a lot of money to put into an old appliance. Who knows what will be the next part to die.

The part number for the timer is WD21X10007.
Google the part number...... should be able to find some bargains on that timer.
Not too hard to replace. As a renter it would be a good idea to check with the landlord before working on an appliance.
