washer fills then completely stops, when I turn knob washer spins

Washer fills with water normally, but then washer completely stops. If I turn the timer knob forward, spin will start and cycle will complete normally. I cannot get it to agitate at all. I replaced the timer switch but it did not fix the problem. Lid switch seems to be working ok. This is a Kenmore 98702 Stacked washer/dryer. Thanks for your help.

Welcome to the forums.

I need the full model number for your unit. It may be 417. xxxxxxxxxx for a Frigidaire built unit.

Check again for the entire part number.

Maybe I should mention that the timer is not progressing on its own. If I don't move the timer forward, the spin cycle will never start on its own.

I was mistaken, the model number is 94702. Does this help? I can't seem to find a number in the format you mentioned.

I think this is your model # 41798702890 Look inside door of dryer and check. It sounds like the timer , did you replace with a new timer?

The model number for your machine is 417.94702300
Take a Sharpie marker and write it on the back of the machine.

Timer switch ?? Or did you replace the timer ?

A defective lid switch or a defective fill pressure switch will cause your problem.

A link to service info from Sears. Your service info actually has a wiring diagram listed

Thanks guys. I did replace the timer switch. Also, while it is draining, the pump turns off and on when I open and close the lid. Would that eliminate the door switch as a problem?
