Dryer thumping
I have a GE Adora dryer model DHDVH52GF0WW. About 6 months ago it was scraping and squeeking. I found some help on here and was able to accomplish that task myself. I changed the front bearing assembly and the slides. That took care of that problem. Well now it has started sounding like the drum is thumping, sort of like it was banging on the front door. Any ideas of what this could be. Someone said it could be the drum bearing. If so is this hard to change. I am a little unsure if I would be able to tackle it since the drum has to be removed. Thanks

That is not a common problem with that dryer, several different things to check, Unfortunately you will have to take front off again. But before you do take a good look at drum for any cracks especially around front bearing area. After you take off front look at bearing again and the felt ring around front . make sure the felt has not come out. While in there wiggle the blower wheel, should be tight on shaft. Don't think rear bearing is problem but if you don't find anything else take drum out and check Drum will slide out to front out of bearing. Tight fit usually have to take 2 screws out of lower panel that hold sides on. Very hard to reach in to reinstall belt.

I had a similar problem. Turned out to be fairly easy to fix. It was the rubber wheel that the rear edge of the drum rides on. It had deveoped a flat spot. Pulled the drum, replaced that wheel - problem fixed.

Unfortunately GE dryers don't have the rubber wheels. Here is a break down of dryer if you look under drum you will see the rear bearing and how it goes.
