We have a top loader whirlpool washer, and the detergent holder fills with water and is still there at the end of the cycles.
The soap is all gone, but the holder is filled with water.
I made sure the drawer is shut tight.
any suggestions

There seems to be several solutions to this problem. One is to check the lines attached to the bottom of the drawer for partial clogs. Another fix is to remove the drawer completely, check it for gummed up openings as well as the housing it slides into.
