kenmore washer not spinning

I have a kenmore washer 80s series that has stopped spinning. It still drains and agitates, and I used to be able to start the drum spinning, then it would get faster, but has stopped completely now. There is also a grinding noise. I don't think it is the motor. It is not the coupler or the door latch. Could it be the clutch? How can I tell? Thanks!!

Welcome to the forums.

Can you post the model number for me ?
It will look like xxx.xxxxxx and can usually be found just below the lid on the edge of the tub area.

Grinding is usually the drive coupler. Does it agitate? look in side to see if agitator is working, Also check this
Look inside cabinet about 6 inches from floor you you may see a streak of oil. If there you need a gearcase top seal, clutch and drive coupler. lean washer back against wall to look under it.

it does not agitate, and there is no oil leakage.

Drive coupler is bad, Most likely cracked where it goes around shaft.

Let me get this right. It fills agitates but does not drain or spin? If so check the lid switch.
