Washer not spinning

My washer is doing the exact same thing. When it began acting up, it smelled like rubber burning. Figured it was a belt. It wont engage the spin cycle by itself. It just hums. I have to open the lid and then close it back in order for it to spin. Then it is as if nothing is even wrong until the next load. I have been told to replace the pump. $25 fix.

Look inside cabinet about 6 inches from floor you you may see a streak of oil. If there you need a gearcase top seal, clutch and drive coupler. lean washer back against wall to look under it.

Wirlpool washer won't fill keeps draining

I have a Wirlpool Heavy Duty washing mashing, model LA5550XTW0 that has all of the sudden started to continue to drain regardless of water temp or size of load instead of filling. It's like there's a valve that just doesn't close so the water runs right through it to the drain. I've had it completely drain my hot water heater several times. Most of the time if I turn it off and on several times and maybe let it go through a few seconds of part of a cycle whether it's agitate, rinse, spin or whatever it will start to hold the water and I'm able to use it, but occasionally after the water from the agitate cycle drains and it's gone through the first spin cycle and it starts to try to fill for the rinse it will develope the same problem where it won't hold water and just lets it all drain out :wall: . Is this something that can be fixed? I'm not concerned about ease, I'm savvy with my tools, I just know alot more about cars and computers, but would like to do this if I can. Please advise. I'm not sure if it's a direct drive or belt drive. I read in a thread that I can't seem to locate that one has a solid back piece and one has an access panel. Mine has the solid back.Read More

#1: I cannot find the existence of my top freezer Frigidaire refrigerator model # FPI-19TJL-0 (this is on the metal plate), or FPI-19TJ (on the sticker in the freezer)! Does this mean that it's not repairable? Do I just throw it out? #2: The freezer is about 43 degrees and the fridge is about 60 degrees. Info I gathered: * The freezer fan is blowing nicely; * The coils behind the fridge are dust free; * There is no ice build-up on the condenser behind the freezer panel (see photo); So what is left, the compressor, leaked coolant, bad thermostat? I have the opportunity to buy a used on for $250 and it's only 3 years old, so I'm trying to get an idea if it's worth fixing this one versus getting another one. Thanks!!
