Maytag washer spin problem with heavy loads

Hello-
My Maytag leaves heavy loads very wet. All other functions work fine. Checked all settings and the belt looks fine. Springs are good too. Did notice that the steel drum is not centered in the outer plastic tub. The steel inner tub is touching the plastic tub on one side with a large space on the opposite side. Before I disassemble the tub unit wanted to know if the steel tub should be centered inside the plastic tub and if perhaps this could be the problem by causing an imbalance when spinning? Thanks.

The basket in the tub is off centered? Have never seen this, Have seen where tub and basket both are off center and tub bangs against sides, If basket is off center in tub the basket may have a broken center, Dose the basket move in tub when you shake it by hand?

The basket is not loose in the tub. Both move together and the movement does not feel loose. I am not able to move the basket toward the center of the tub at all. Thanks.

That washer has a problem with the springs and snubber, Springs weaken and snubber wares out and tub bangs against side of washer, If not banging don't worry about that, Take off belt and turn water pump, should turn free and smooth, If hard to turn or feels rough when turning you need a pump.

Pump seems okay. I will check the springs and snubber. Thanks for the advice.
