Problem with Hotpoint side by side fridge/freezer

Hi all,

We have a Hotpoint side by side fridge freezer in our kitchen which seems to be acting up. The freezer side is fine, not frosting up, just doing what its supposed to do. The fridge however is a different story. Its almost room temperature in there. Now we have the warmer weather its becoming a bit of an issue with milk not keeping etc.

The model is Hotpoint MSZ 803DF (UK) and it incorporates what it calls a cold shower system in the fridge side.

If you need anymore info please ask and I will provide what I can.

PS: No sign of overheating or unusual noises at present.

Cheers, Chris

Welcome to the forums.

In the upper left hand corner of the fridge looks to be a damper system. That should open to allow cold air into the fridge. There is most likely a fan in the freezer that blows the air thru that damper. That damper may be electronically controlled. I see many UK parts sites pushing the sale of a temperature sensor. That may be the fridge side sensor and it may be a problem part.

I have no detailed information on the operation of your unit or an actual internal parts breakdown.
