GE front load washing machine won't spin/fill

Hi

My GE front load washing machine was bought in 2009, 5 years old.

Recently, when I choose white, it fills water, wash it, but stops at the last 18 mins for the rinse/spin cycle.

But when I choose color/easycare/speed wash, it won't fill the water.

I had a technician come in and check, he said it's either the water pump ($200) or front electric panel ($250). Both are too expensive, I would rather buy a new one for that price.

I am wondering is this something I can fix it myself by purchasing the parts? Where I can find the tutoring video on how to fix it?

thanks

Welcome to the forums.

It wouldn't be the water pump. The pump drains the machine and has no bearing on it filling.
It sounds like it may be the water fill valve as the two cycles you've selected use different water temperatures.

Can you post the model number for the machine.

I just watched some youtube videos, I think it maybe the water inject valve. I will get the model number when I get home.

But how do I know if the water inject valve truly needs to be replaced? Do I need to buy any tools/equipment to test it?
