fixing up scratches and rust spots on white appliances

What is the accepted method for fixing up scratches and rust spots on white appliances?

In the attached pictures, the first one shows the scratches on my washer. It looks like the previous owner was attempting some kind of repair to fix the scratches. I am not sure what exactly was put on there. The second pictures shows the rust on the oven door.

What should I use? Rustoleum?

Appreciate the help.

You can buy appliance paint in both aerosol cans and little touch up bottles. I'm not sure what's going on in the top pic but you'd have to sand it smooth, prime if down to raw metal and repaint. You'd probably have to repaint the entire panel to get it to look right. Touch up should be fine for the other areas. While fresh paint can get it looking nice again any paint you apply won't be as tough as the factory finish.
