Whirlpool Fridge- side by side making wierd noise

Can anyone tell me what this noise is and how to repair it? Whirlpool side by side approx. 3 yrs old. model # GSS26C4XXB03. I have made a you tube video so it is easy to see and hear the problem. This noise is only intermittent a few times per day for about an hour. thanks for your help! Here is the youtube link/video - thanks

Welcome to the forums.

The noise sounds like an air door between the freezer and the fridge section.

I'll need to check further.

How to get at air door between fridge and freezer on whirlpool side by side

model# GSS26C4XXB03

Hello,

I have included a picture of the top part of my side by side fridge. If you are facing the fridge on the left side their is a air door making a knocking noise. How do I take of the "U" shaped plastic bracket going around the ceiling of the fridge that holds the air filter, water filter, etc without breaking anything? There is 1 bolt on the top left side and that is it from what I can see - the rest appears to snap in but I am scared of breaking it by trying to snap it off, etc... Once I get at the air door any ideas on how to repair it would be appreciated.

I moved your last post to this thread. It gets confusing with two threads running on the same topic.

Once you pull the center filter out there should one or two screws holding the diffuser in.

Sears part direct has the best exploded views of appliances. The link below is the link to that site for your fridge. The Whirlpool part number is W10251495 for the motorized diffuser. When link opens click on "view full size" under the diagram. It will open in a new page. Click on the new diagram and it will expand. Use the cursor or arrow buttons to navigate. The pictorial part #4.

No problem...... let us know how you make out as this appears to be a common problem in these fridges.
