kenmore series 80 washer issue

Hi. I have a kenmore series 80 washing machine that has worked great for many years, but now is full of water, won't agitate, won't spin, won't pump out. It just hums loudly.
I slipped the belt off and the motor turns by hand. It gets very hot when on. I disconnected the low speed power wire to make sure it is not just getting power to both windings. No change. I believe it is either a bad motor or starter/capacitor. How can I diagnose which one? Is the starter available separately?
Thanks.

Welcome to the forums.

A model number for your washer would be most helpful. Lift up lid.... it's all the way down at the bottom under the lid. It'll look like xxx.xxxxxxxxxx

Model # will help, but "belt" does it have a cardboard or similar back on it?
