Squeaky Washing Machine

What would cause a washing machine to squeak during the spin cycle?

Thatís kind of what I was thinking, but it sounds more like metal to metal. Like something out of round. Is that something that can be repaired? Is it going to all of a sudden stop working?

Itís older. I bought it in May 2002. Itís a GE WJSE4150 top loader.

WJSE4150 is a group model number. You are missing the second half of it. It may be posted under the lid at the bottom.

It could be as simple as a belt or a possibly a clutch issue.
