Why is my ice cream not frozen firm?

Ok, granted this a used side by side fridge, but an accurate thermometer says it's
0 degrees in the freezer where the ice cream is, at the lowest setting, though it showed the same at 2 steps above lowest. Veggies in the door, meat on the shelves, hard as rock's no problem, but the IC is almost like soft serve. I tried different shelves, front or back, in the air flow, out of the air flow. Put other stuff around it or leave it exposed. No diff.

It's a Hotpoint GSX24GR...not sure of the age. Came from a rent to own repo.

Just noticed also that the sealed hot/cold packs aren't solid either. Fridge section is at about 38, so seems like everything is working?

Do I just need to re-arrange stuff? Never had this problem before.

Ice cream needs to be kept below 0 to be kept frozen solid. You need to find the place where it stays the coldest, has the best cold air flow and is bothered the least when the unit defrosts.

In other words..... don't worry about saving it.... just EAT IT.

Wifey bought a brand of ice cream because she could and it was on "sale". It really never seemed to freeze. A half gallon was about 2 bowls full. It was whipped with so much air, that it wouldn't freeze properly at -2f. So much for "sale" ice cream.

Nope, first ice cream I bought since getting the fridge. It may indeed be the ice cream. I bought the same stuff when I was at the other place and I believe the freezer section was at 0 degrees there too.
