Whirlpool side by side, freezer too cold
Hi - I have an 8 year-old Whirlpool side by side fridge/freezer. The temperature for both side has been difficult to regulate. We have after-market temperature guages so we can easily monitor. For the past week or so the freezer has been too cold. It is set on the warmest possible setting, and still registers at -12. The fridge is fine. How do we determine what needs to be done to fix this? Thanks in advance! Model # is ED5HHGXTQ.

Welcome to the forums.
You have two temperature adjustments in the fridge. The right one is a mechanical thermostat that controls the compressor which controls the entire box. The left one is a damper that controls the flow of air between the fridge and the freezer. There are two versions of your fridge. One uses a mechanical damper and the other uses an electronically controlled one.
Try turning the temperature (right control) down one number and see what happens.
