GE TFX25JR fridge not freezing or cooling properly
Hello all. The motor and fan are running and there is cooling but not enough. Both the fresh food and freezer controls are set to max but food in freezer is thawing out and ice maker is not making ice. Fresh food side is cool but not cold although there is cold air coming through the vents. I notice the door frames are unusually warm (almost hot).
What is the most likely cause of the problem?

You didn't post the full model number.
Have you checked under the unit to make sure the coils are clean as well as the condensor fan is running down there ?
In the freezer section is the evaporator coil. Check and see if it's frozen over. There should be a removable cover over it.
There there is also fan near the evaporator that moves the air over the coil and thru the fridge and freezer. Hold the fridge light button in and see if you feel air movement.

Thank you, Paul. It was indeed dirty coils. The fridge has been so trouble-free for so many years, I guess I started taking it for granted and forgot all about that very important aspect or refrigerator maintenance.
