Dishwasher Vibrating Sound

I have a GE Dishwasher that is making a vibrating sound now. It never used to make this sound, but lately it makes the sound. The sound does not come on until about 1 hour into the dishwasher cycle.

On the backsplash in my kitchen I have an On/Off switch that controls the power to my dishwasher. The switch basically looks just like a normal light switch and you can turn it On and Off.

While the dishwasher is making that vibrating sound, I decided just to see what happens if I suddenly turn the dishwasher OFF via that On/Off switch I described above. When I turned that switch back ON the dishwasher no longer made that vibrating sound.

However the dishwasher still continues to make that vibrating sound all subsequent times I run the dishwasher. I simply wanted to test in mid-cycle if I turn the dishwasher off if that makes the vibrating noise go away momentarily or not.

Does anybody have any idea what could be the problem? I will try to post a sound clip of the dishwasher when it makes that sound.

 

Can you post the model number of your dishwasher? Also, can you tell what part of the cycle the dishwasher was in when it made the sound?
