Ice maker not working on bottom freezer refrigerator
How much can I expect to spend on having someone come install a replacement ice maker in my freezer? Is it a plumber I need? Or general handyman?

There is nothing there. No label anywhere. I have taken everything out of both fridge and freezer. Checked in the back of the appliance.
If I take the bad one out and take it somewhere would the be able to tell me which one I need for replacement?

What make is the unit ? That should be on the outside of the door.
You may be able to take the ice maker to a parts retailer and have it replaced based on sight. That replacement may run around $125.00
If we can determine the model I can point you in different directions. Once I have the make I can tell you where to check for the ID plate.

Thank you
I really appreciate you sticking with me here. The refrigerator is an Amana Temp Assure that I purchased in March of 2000. The rest of the unit runs great. I'm wondering if it was a stick-on sign by the bottom coil area that I may have pulled off years ago. Aaauuugggghhhhh

I pulled ice machine out
There was a piece of ice up in the water tube leading to the ice maker. So there must be something wrong between the water intake in the back of the refrigerator and the ice maker. I know that the water is getting to the refrigerator because I disconnected the hose and checked. Is there a way for me to clear out the tube (or whatever between the outside and the ice maker? What would cause it to freeze up there?
Thanks for your help

So took the ice maker to the Sears shop to see if they had a replacement unit that would match this one. The guy there was really helpful but was unable to find one that had the same connections. He found the following numbers inside the machine itself.
2240016A
628135 is the module assembly number
Does this help any?

2240016A is a Whirlpool ice maker.
628135 is the rebuild/module assembly number.
Very expensive ice maker and I'm trying to figure out why. I'm looking for a realistic price source.
