LG refrigerator problems
LG LSC27926SW
About two weeks ago the icemaker stopped working. Fridge side was fine. About a week later, freezer was not as cold as it should be to keep things frozen. I noticed ice build-up on the back panel of the freezer. It is a frost free unit. Freezer has continued to be less cold and now fridge side is getting warmer as well. I am in the process of defrosting entire unit. Am trying to take off rear panel inside of freezer to check for ice but not sure how to remove panel. Also, what could be causing this problem and how do I remedy the situation?

Welcome to the forums.
Click on the link and then click on the diagram. It will open to an expanded view. 332B is the evaporator cover. It looks like it just snaps on as I don't see any screws in the diagram holding it on.

Let me know if the coil is iced up and we'll go from there. You could have a defrost element failure or a control board issue.

Hi PJ! Thanks for the response. The back is very similar to part 332b but no clips on the sides. I was able to pop the bottom of the back out and release the tabs from the top by the light, but something is still holding it in place in the middle besides the railing track. What I could see was yes, a lot of ice built-up behind there. It is defrosted now and here is a picture of what I can see. It is still wet from the ice

In follow-up there seem to be two clips or maybe screws half way up. Trying to figure them out and then can get back panel off. See pics.

All is defrosted now. opened panel in back of fridge/freezer and cleaned out any water & dust. also here is a pic of the inside back of freezer
top of panel and now bottom of panel
sorry, it's sideways...the vents are at the bottom of the panel.

I've never had that particular back cover off so I can't offer any solid help. It's hard to tell from the pictures what that clip is doing.
You can get part of the cover off but not the entire cover.... is that correct ?

Yes. The bottom will pop out enough for me to look up part of the way. That is how I was able to take a picture of the wet coils.
Thinking back, when the icemaker stopped working and the freezer was as cold as it should be, the back of the freezer looked a lot like this picture.
It was up around the light and in the upper part of the rear panel like this. It extended half way down the back panel which means the coils must have been pretty iced over.

Sigh
OK so trying to move forward yesterday at 8am I replaced the PCB, ran the test mode, and fired up the fridge. Everything was up and running on the display. Fridge and freezer got cold. Freezer started making ice cubes. Came down this morning and got the Er dH message.
Also, was able to get back panel off. Clips were pressure clips but very difficult to get to. PJMax or anyone ~ any input would be gratefully appreciated
