How do I get this sticky stuff off my fridge

Hi everyone. I'm moving into a new home that came with a Frigidaire Fridge. They had to replace it because the first one had some dents and scratches on the doors.

I've got the replacement but it's got some green tape/sticky substance on the side/bottom of the ice tray. Is there anything I can use around the house to remove this? I've tried picking at it with my fingers/nails but it's on there pretty good.

It took them 2 months to get me a new fridge so I don't want to have to wait for them to come take care of this.

Welcome to the forums.

Things like GooGone or GoofOff would work. You could also try lighter fluid.

Sometimes you can roll your finger over it and it will roll off.

WD40 is a pretty good adhesive remover as well.

Keep in mind that most products are going to require patience and elbow grease.

You might try a heat gun or better still a hair dryer. Use it very sparingly. You don't want to melt any plastic. I'm a great believer in the WD-40 and am not a fan of GOO-GONE.

Thanks for the replies. Turns out its not exactly sticky when I touch it but it's hard to peel off. Like it's some kind of tape that's stuck on there good. Would the hair dryer idea work for that?

Thanks

it sounds like the protective plastic they put on to prevent scratching and marring. But if it's left on too long it can be tough to get off.
