can torch be used to get melted plastic out of oven?

friends mom left dishpan in there. i'm going over tonight. I was gonna take racks outside and torch them but can I torch the oven itself . the little blue propane bottles, nothing commercial

It's just stuck to the oven, not the element? Has anyone tried scraping it off?

I would highly recommend not doing this. Some ovens the panels can be removed and physically or chemically cleaned. Almost every oven with a self clean function says to NOT use any oven cleaner though.

That's probably what I would do after scraping with hard plastic or wood scrapers...use the self clean. Be prepared for a lot of smoke though.
