Frigidaire refrigerator compressor clicking
Refrigerator is 8 years old. About 50% of the time, the fan would turn on but not the compressor. After 10 seconds, I hear a loud click. Wait about 30 seconds, and another loud click and the compressor starts. This has been going on about 2 months. Refrigerator has no problem cooling (once the compressor finally starts).
So far, I've done this:
1. Replaced run capacitor. This reduced the frequency of the problem from 50% to about 5%.
2. Leaving new run capacitor installed, I also replaced the start motor relay on the side of the compressor. (The capacitor plugs into this relay.) Immediately the problem returned to about 50% of the time.
Any ideas?

It sure sounds like an issue with the new start relay.
You'll need to check and make sure the connections to the compressor are tight and clean where relay plugs in.

Ok, I'll pull the relay this evening and make sure it's seated correctly.
The old start relay rattles when I shake it. The new one does not. I'm guessing rattling means it's bad?
If the start relay wasn't seated correctly, could the compressor still start 50% of the time?

The rattle is a sure sign it's blasted inside.
The compressor could start 50% of the time if it wasn't hot.

I removed the start relay, brushed off the connectors, and re-installed it. The problem remains. I guess there's a chance that Sears sent me a bad replacement part. Is there a way to test it?
Even with the old relay that rattles, the problem was much less frequent than it is now.
