I noticed water on the drain hose and a quick look revealed a pinhole leak. I'd just as soon replace it, but at around $50 for the part I have to ask if anyone has had any success stopping such a leak? If so, what do you recommend? Thank you.

I was an HVAC contractor over 30 years ago. People who are aware of that fact think I know "everything" about the subject, which is ridiculous. Several months ago I decided to junk my 35 year old refrigerator. I repaired the unit a few times over the years, but the last failure scared me a little. I should have fixed the darn thing. It was rust free and I could have kept it healthy for few more years. The new model is the usual stainless steel which is very "pretty" but I don't like it. Model Number: WRF560SMYMO4 The crisper drawers and tracks had to be replaced a few weeks after the purchase. The drawers were cracked and the tracks were bent out of shape. The service technician said Whirlpool had to replace thousands of drawers and tracks. We are all accustom to hearing the compressor kick over or the defroster fan whirring away. Please guys, tell me what I'm hearing now is perfectly normal! The owners manual has a long list of "normal" sounds, but I'm still very concerned. There are short bursts (several seconds) of a wobble-wobble-wobble sound, almost like an air pump pulling a vacuum. It also sounds like a sliver of cardboard caught in a slow turning fan blade. It might stop and start several times over, or hours can pass and you don't hear anything. This may not be related at all, but the ice maker is not connected. I don't need it. The guys who delivered the unit were told by the salesperson to turn it "off." There is a button on the console for reseting the water filter, but there is no "off" button. If it is ice maker related, can it be turned off? If not, I'll be greatly relieved if that odd sound is normal. I've got a 5 year extended warranty, but I don't want to call for service again unless there really is a problem.
