Washer gtun275gm1ww wont spin

Ok so Ive got this GE gtun275gm1ww that will not spin. Agitation is good, lid switch/lock is good, belt fine, timer fine, motors good. This model has a sort of shifter fork that engages the gear for the drum to spin but it is not engaging. This gear engages during the wash but not the spin. When the spin cycle starts the motor moves back and forth a few times to let the gear engage and starts spinning with only the center inside moving. There doesnt seem to be any troubleshooting material anywhere for this model. I have 110 of these units on my property and Im about to torch every single one.

Do you have the tech sheet? I tried to find one on line but could not find one. Retired a couple years ago and worked on several of them. Is it shifting, that is a common problem. Bearing go bad on them also. Had a apartment complex with about 200 of the combo washer & dryer and was there every week on them. Most common problem was control board as I remember.
You realty need to pull codes to find out what is wrong. Look in console there may be a tech sheet in there.

I actually just figured it out. The control board was going to be my next guess. It turns out this machine had just had the support assembly and seal replaced and the spring on the selector gear was put under it instead of above it.

Glad you found it. I personally hate that washer.

Unfortunately the codes are sometimes vague on this machine. I have another that is shooting a code for blocked motor every so often. I haven't found an issue so far but went ahead and tried a new motor, speed sensor and belt. Just got a call back about it doing it again. Next step tracing wire harness and then control board.
