Locating washing machine model number
Hi there,
I've got a Frigidaire Gallery, front loading, washing machine and I'm trying to find the model number on this thing but I can't find it anywhere.
I first looked inside the door, around the perimeter of the rubber seal, expecting to see it there, but no. I looked around the door itself, all around the glass window, nothing.
Then I took off the bottom foot panel and looked inside that, under it, etc, nothing. I then spotted the wiring diagrams, etc. tucking inside an envelope attached to the inside of the machine's cabinet and pulled them out to see if they had the model number, but no.
A while back, while researching a part for this machine, I stumbled on the number "417" that corresponded to a picture of my machine, and if I search "Frigidaire 417 Washing Machine" online, the first couple of rows in "images" looks like my washer.
So, after my rambling, could this washing machine simply have a short model number like "417?" I just figured it would be longer.
The reason I'm even trying to locate the model number is to give the service tech, that's coming this week, a bit of a heads-up so he may be able to bring as few replacement parts to save him more trips and us some money.
Thanks, in advance, for reading this. Any help on this is greatly appreciated!

A Kenmore appliance with the 417. prefix is made by Frigidaire for Sears.
Apparently there are a great number of Kenmore failures which makes the 417 popular. (417.44152400).
It is not a Frigidaire model number.
Common model number plate locations
Back of the cabinet (near the top)
Door frame
Inside the door
Front or side of the base unit

Model # for that machine is inside door, It is a label stuck on front. If missing there is no other place to find it. That makes finding some parts almost impossible to find.
What do you need model # for. Will try to help.

Thanks for the replies.
The reason I'm looking for the model number is I'm trying to streamline the efforts of an appliance tech that is coming to the house this Thursday.
This unit is in a rental suite of ours and lately the tenant says she's having problems with this unit's famed "won't do final spin." I've seen this problem a lot and am determined to fix this, reasonably speaking that is.
Anyway, I did some troubleshooting with my trusty ohm meter and replaced the timer since it was the easiest, cheapest possible problem. The tenant said it worked but then a few days later, no go.
Next I replaced the door lock switch/assembly. Same thing; It apparently worked for a few loads (3 according to her) then no final spin.
Yesterday, I went into the suite and sat with the machine and a load of laundry and went through all four cycles and it did all of its spins and agitations flawlessly. I mean it when I saw I spent some intimate time with this washer. (I think I may have proposed to it at some point, but thats another day and another forum!)
This morning I went in again and tried one random cycle and then put the machine into final spin, manually, on all four cycles without fail.
I can't seem to get this thing to fail for me, lol!
So, is it possible the tenant is setting the timer dial in such a way that she's causing this fault with the final spin? I've never heard of this before but I'm just trying to offer up something here. I'm not an appliance tech by any means buy I know my way around a multi-meter, etc.
At this point I thought I'd bring a tech in to do some more extensive diagnostics and maybe reveal something, but, the supposed intermittent problem may negate this effort.
I figured I'd go this route as well since I think the next two possibilities for replacement is the speed control module or the motor? I'm not sure of the exact name of the module but I gather it's basically the "brain" of the machine that tells it when to do things and how long to do it for.
The tenant tells me that when the failed last spin occurs the standing water has drained from the machine but the clothes are just left sopping wet, even though the timer has moved through the cycle and the "buzzer" has sounded.
Sorry for the long-winded reply but I'm just trying to give all the specifics.
Thanks, again, for the replies!

Been there many time with customers not having problems when you are there. If either a Sears or A&E tech neither will work on machine without a model #.
Most common problem for your machine is a bad door lock and you replaced it. I would tell tenant unless problem happens when you are there,
There is nothing you can do to fix it. Usually a customer problem not a machine problem. Post a picture of front of washer and I will try to get a close model #.

Picture is in the first post and #9, looks just like my Gibson except you have an extra button to the left of the timer, my light is there.
Sure you would have seen it but my model number is at the 12 o'clock position when you open the door, above the opening to the tub.

See picture now.
Here is a similar model

How did you get a timer for washer without model # Timers usually only fit a few models.

If you still have that part # and call Frigidaire they might be able to tell what model it came out of.. A 417 Kenmore is built be Frigidaire.
