The dial has to be messed with and sometimes I can get it to come on but it will only fill water for a few seconds, less than 30, and then it will shut off and it will be impossible to reproduce how to get it turned back on again. So basically I'm sitting here with a tub full of water. Time to put it out to pasture?

Sounds like you need a timer. Post model # and can help. What dial do you have to mess with?

I don't see a model number, it just says "Quiet wash plus".
The rightmost dial, no matter the setting, is rarely able to initiate activity and when it does, it's only for a few seconds then the machine stops doing anything.
Thanks for your help

look on back of console .Lean washer to you and you should see model #. If I remember right it is on timer side. Not a fan of that washer, have worked on many and I think of them as a throw away.

Apparently the knob was stuck and even though I was able to pull it out partway, it's supposed to pull out further, seems to be solved, thanks
