I'm sorry I didn't think of that,

ok from the Zanussi Mod DS 17 Prod.No. 911711020 Ser.No. 8120022 Type 91171-2a

If it helps if u give the timer Assembly a little shake should it rattle ?

DW guys will be in later, most timers don't rattle. Sounds bad.

I'm guessing it's a mechanical rotary timer as I cannot find a picture of the timer.
Little to no tech support online for this brand as far as US accessibility.

Timer is the most likely problem. Good luck locating it. Seems everyone has the knob for it.

So I don't know if this makes any difference in what's wrong but il still explain so the cycle starts normally but when it gets to the main wash cycle it gets stuck in the same place each time and the water gets very hot I have to turn the dial a few notches to get it to continue, is this still the timer or is it a bad thermostat ?

I can't give you any specific help. I'd need to see a tech sheet or wiring diagram for your unit.

It is possible that your timer is delayed/held until the water hits a certain temperature.

Ok I see what your saying

non specific do you think it would be a good idea to buy a digital multimeter and test the 2 thermostats on the dishwasher ?
