Question GE Dishwasher: no water fill

So, have a GE Dishwasher, Model #CDT725SSFSS. Ran a cycle, upon completion the dishes were HOT but not clean. There was absolutely no water run on the cycle. Tried again for a few minutes and there was no water again. I looked inside the tub at the bottom and noticed it was dry(usually water in there). For some reason, I filled it with water, ran the machine and it started working. What gives? Thanks!
PS: FWIW, I noticed a noise under the dishwasher when I was trying to look at it(prior to adding a bucket of water).
THANKS!

Start the dishwasher again. Grab the hot water feed hose. Use gloves. Is it hot? Is water entering the machine?

Thanks for the reply. I should of mentioned that when I started it after throwing the water in it, I felt the braided line and there was water going through the line.

That nice but the water has to pass through the line without any help. Try it again without throwing water in the machine.

OK, it's actually running right now with no issues(knock on wood). I'll try it again after this cycle. Thanks!

It sounds like the float switch was stuck up. This will keep the machine from filling with water. When you poured water into the tub you dislodged it.

The model number is not complete. CDT725SSF?SS

Your last post was informative. Go out and buy Affresh for dishwashers. There is nothing like it. It will clean out the entire water pathway including all those little holes in the spray arms.
