Question KitchenAid ice maker not working

Model is KFIS27CXMS3. In this model the ice maker is inside the fridge at the top left but the dispenser is in the door. Ice was working fine until a couple of days ago. Last night I opened the top of the ice dispenser and it was empty. Lifted the flap on the front of the ice maker and saw a bit of ice in there. Reached in and cleared it, but it didn't help. Water dispenser still works fine and fridge and freezer temperatures seem normal. Where do I start? Can I get in there to verify it's not blocked or jammed?

Dave.

Seems it started back up on it's own. I dropped the fridge and freezer temp a couple degrees and replaced the water filter because it was due for it. I don't think any of those things fixed it. Feel like it was blocked. I'll check back in if it happens again.

When it's not making ice..... see if there is water either frozen or partially frozen in the tray. That unit uses a fan to blow the cold air thru the ice maker. If that fan has a problem the ice maker won't get cold enough to harvest the cubes.
