Integrated dishwasher
Hi Guys, I know there are some very smart people who will be able to advise on this
I removed my built-in freezer and want to use the space to install an integrated dishwasher.
Now, the distance from the dishwasher to the drain would be quite significant. Something around 3.5-4M (Buying a 5M hose just to be sure)
I've also read that dishwasher pump might not be able to handle the load and water will just go back into the dishwasher itself because it would first have to go down, then back up again (just a bit to be fair, maybe around 40-50cm to get to the drain underneath the sink)
Attached are the images of where the dish washer would go in and where it has to go to. Of course, imagine that underneath the sync, the drain is somewhere in the middle of it (hence the 40-50cm up again)
Drain and water supply would run underneath the cabinets.
My question is, would dishwasher be able to handle such a big distance? Is it worth even trying to install it? Any chance that dishwasher will not be able to handle the fact that water goes back up even though it's just 50cm at the most?
Thanks,
Arturs.

The distance isn't really the problem. The hose should leave the unit...... go directly up to the bottom of the countertop and then on to the drain. The pump can't lift the water up twice.
From the unit....along the bottom and then to the drain will not result in proper drain operation. The loop up to the countertop is critical for proper draining.

Distance shold not be to much problem. Remember the DW drain hose must go up to bottom of counter or you will have drain problems.an go up and than down to sink it just needs to above water level. in one spot. Pete typing same time I was.

A agree with all above except for one thing. I would run the drain line low to the ground until it reaches the sink base cabinet. Once the hose comes in low to the sink base, that's where you make your high loop or air gap.

Apologies but English isn't my first language so if you don't mind I will make it a little bit easier for me to understand with little bit of MS Paint art... lol
Please see attached, have I managed to understand what you have been trying to explain to me?
Thanks,
Arturs.

Thank you, I thought as much
I just did some more measurements and it might be that I won't actually be able to fit everything in that slot. The dept is 570mm (Excluding the door). If I get a 550mm deep dishwasher, that only leaves 20mm at the back which AFAIK is not enough for the hose to be fitted behind it. Or is it? My poor googling skills showed that the hose is around 1 inch in diameter which is around 25mm so no way I can fit the hose properly behind the dishwasher right?
Am I missing something or am I right that I won't be able to fit the dishwasher and attach the drain hose properly behind it?
