Dryer Vent installation

I need to install a clothes dryer vent. It's a relatively long run and the pipe would have to run in between the joist in the ceiling. I'm attaching a picture of what that bay looks like now. My concern is the insultation there. How safe would it be for the pipe to be basically lying on top of the insulation? Is that a fire hazard at all?

Not a fire hazard. The hottest a dryer gets is 160 at it hottest. vent pipe never gets that hot. Be sure to use ridge pipe, It is o to use flexible to connect dryer to to vent. Be very careful not to crush vent when you push dryer in.

Off topic and opinion only but I have always thought if you need to run ducts like that more than a few feet you have chosen the wrong place for the dryer. Long runs of horizontal ducts are just lint traps, and an impediment to ideal dryer air discharge and ultimately possibly a great place for a fire.
