Periscope dryer vent to ceiling duct?

Is this possible? My combo washer/dryer has small little space. Flexible dryer hose cracked, so I replaced w semi rigid. Duct comes from ceiling (it vents horizontally outside, don't worry.)
Connections aren't great and I left too much length, making it heavier. Difficult to attach 4 inch end to 4 inch duct but spent $$ on some adapters. Now I wonder about a long periscope might last longer, allow dryer to be set back further so I can fully open fridge door. .
Is that an OK idea, with 5.5 ft from dryer to ceiling duct.?

Are you referring to this style of telescoping duct?

5.5' of dryer duct is fine, most dryers can handle 20-25 of equivalent duct length (including elbows).

That vent but a real pain to install. be sure you have connected to dryer before you push dryer back in place.

Thanks for input. I read about that extra long periscope vent, sound like I should buy a lot of metal tape to seal up seams and double check instructions.
Trickiest part of my setup is tight space, not just for dryer but me getting my body out of closet before shoving the (tall) All in one unit back in .
Really poor choice of placement when they built this, but not sure how many choices they had.
Thanks again for your input!
