Bacteria inside water tank/lines

My GF has a four year old Electrolux side-by-side and has been getting an upset stomach when drinking the water out of her fridge. I suspect there is bacteria in the water reservoir (coiled tubing) and/or lines downstream of the water filter. Is it possible to flush out these components without removing them, or would it be best to just replace them? The reservoir part is only $65 and I can get all the tubing for under $50. Model is FGHC2331PFAA.

You could hook up the fridge's water line to a pump up sprayer. Then run a bleach/water solution through the system to sterilize it. By the time you spend $50 on the sprayer and fittings your half way to just getting new parts.
