Change icemaker inlet line to 1/4"
Our Kenmore freezer has an icemaker inlet line that is less than 1/4". It has a molded in ring and uses a compression nut. I want to convert that line to a standard 1/4" pex type line.
Under the fridge, where the inlet line goes in, there is a push to connect fitting. The inlet line bumps up in diameter right at that fitting. What are the chances that it bumps up to 1/4"?
Hoping somebody knows from experience before I tear into it.

I know the actual line is not 1/4” It would be so simple if they would make them 1/4” so we could easily connect to pex lines. If I have time, I’ll pop the line and try to see if the 1/4” line will work since there is a shoulder with a larger OD.

He's talking about the water line between the solenoid valve and the ice maker. Typically those lines are not connected to. The service connection is on the solenoid which is always 1/4"
