Turning stacked washer/dryer
I have a stacked electric washer dryer that I want to rotate 90 degrees for two reasons:
1) so that no one coming into the laundry room from outside of the house hits the washer door if it is left open
2) so the dryer has a more direct route to vent straight outside
I’m probably over-thinking this, but does anyone see a problem with rotating the washer/dryer? Anything I should be careful of? It looks like the water lines will definitely reach and the drain pipe also. The only thing is the water lines won’t be directly behind the washer in the new configuration. I plan to switch to rigid 4” pipe for dryer vent instead of the current flexible one. In the new configuration the dryer will be able to vent straight back, but will require two 90 degree corners to turn up and then outside. See drawing below for bird’s eye view of how the new configuration would look.
