Lightening damage (?) to Maytag bravos XL electric dryer

Several weeks ago we had a lightening strike close to our house and it did cause a surge throughout our house. We lost most of our surge protectors and a few small items. Our dryer is what has us stumped. It was running and was close to the end of a cycle (about 4 min left) when the surge hit. It will power on, and I can start a cycle but it only runs for 4 minutes then powers off. This dryer is only about a year old. We've tested the cord to make sure power is getting through, the wall outlet is fine and (house) breakers in the box are good. My hubs & I both have background in electronics but we'd like to get some advice on where to start. Thanks!

Welcome to the forums.

Interesting. Usually the dryer is dead after a hit.
Does it heat for that 4 minutes ?
Usually in a case like that you'll get a fault code.
Post the model number for us.

There is a tech sheet inside that dryer in the area of the controls. It describes how to put the dryer into diagnostic mode and from that you may get information. With your model number.... I may have that sheet already.

Not sure if the following includes XL units but it may be useful to you.

The manual manden posted
On page 6-1 is how to enter test mode. Not sure it will work on your dryer but won't hurt to try.
