LG Fridge stopped cooling, now cooling again.
Model LFX25973ST, about 4 years old. We came home from a weekend away to find a puddle of water under the fridge from the melted ice in the upper icemaker. Items in the freezer had mostly thawed, and the compressor was not running. I turned down the temperature settings of both the fridge and freezer to the lowest settings. (34° and -4°). The compressor and condenser fan started running and everything started cooling again. I put a thermometer in the freezer and it was down to 21° when my wife got up this morning. About an hour later, I checked it and it was up to 30°, like it had stopped cooling again. I opened and closed doors and it started running again and has worked all day. The condenser coils are clean.
What can cause it to intermittently not cool until I open and close doors?

I cannot find a manual for your exact model but the following looks like a close match.

Have you tried unplugging it for a few minutes?
This should reset everything.

It sounds like it may be a problem with the evaporator fan. The compressor and condenser fan are not affected by opening the door but the evap fan shuts off when the door is open.
