GE Dishwasher has power but nothing when I hit any button

I picked up a GE disherwasher model number GDT655SSJ5SS and I’d call it new because it was still attached to the wooden skid and had all the items inside the tub and you can tell it was never installed. I hooked up the power and water but I didn’t turn on the water and I just looked at the buttons and they are dead. No lights nothing... Does it need to sense water pressure to turn on? I’d figure I have some sort of display or something right? I checked for power at the box under the dishwasher and it has power there.. Do these have fuse’s? I don’t know where to start troubleshooting...

Thanks for any help...

Look for a tech sheet. It's a little service manual for the washer. It should be in a little plastic bag and tied up in the bottom. Usually it's just behind the kickplate. That's an older machine. Many parts shown not available.

That machine has a control box underneath. There should be a fuse on that board. Check that. Check the board for 120vAC when connected. The control board is part # 750 and the fuse # 747 under the tab "Body Parts".
The first link is a video showing the control board. There should be a diagnostic LED on it too.

There probably is a thermal fuse, a likely suspect because it's designed to fail. There's also a limit switch that prevents it starting if the door isn't closed.

Yeah I noticed some parts aren’t available anymore. Like the control board! I can’t find #747 for the fuse? I’ll also drop the control board and check it out.

I added a video link to the board location.
Yes..... the door switch is a common source of trouble but not with a brand new unit.

Just an FYI the way I have it powered is I have a plug in the bottom corner where it goes and I just used a HUSKY utility Cord and made my connections then I plug it in the outlet and slid it in.

First thing I would do is plug it in to another socket or check there is 120 volts at outlet.

I did verify 120 volts at the junction box on the bottom of the dishwasher.

Update...

I took the control board down and it’s smoked!! Two or three popped resistors and lots of black. lol. It doesn’t smell at all so it happened a while ago I’m sure. Called the guy I got it from and I’m getting my $$ back..

Thank you all for the help!

Yes..... that's what I was worried about. Good that you can return it.
