Washing machine overfilling

I have a normal old washing machine. (Not high efficiency)

wife set it to large load and it started agitating which splashed water over the edge. We drained it then I inspected the water level switch. I tested the pressure switch by blowing on it and it worked that way. It is a two prong water level switch so I couldnít find guidance on testing it with a multimeter.

I pulled the pressure hose from the washing bin and it was still nice a flexible.

we put it all back together and set it to fill. I pulled the plug while it was filling a few times and every time it shut off which tells me the water valve was shutting off properly.

we continued to let it fill and it filled at the proper level this time. Iím just not sure what to think as I found no direct issue and itís working properly now. The air pressure hose is clean and very flexible so it should be sealing well.
