GE glasstop range, dual burner interior stopped working

Hello, I have a GE glasstop range, and the smaller of one of the dual burners has stopped working. It is not apparent whether the switch is faulty or the burner element has died. The larger burner still works. Is this easy to diagnose and repair? Thanks!

If you have a multimeter, remove the element from the stove. They usually plug into a connector (there may be a screw holding it in place). Once you have the element out, set your multimeter to the lowest ohms scale. Hold each probe on each of the two element terminals. If the element is good, it will measure <100 ohms. If it's bad, it will read very high resistance (infinity or open circuit).

See below for detailed instructions:

Without a model number we are just guessing here but smooth top glass ranges are usually a royal PITB to take apart if the controls are in the front or back and easily accessible you can measure the Ohms that way if not you will have to remove the glass. The dual elements usually have 3 terminals (Common higher wattage & lower wattage) they also usually have a thermal cutout wired to the heater coils to prevent the glass from cracking if the stove top is over heated.
