GE jt5000sf2ss Bulb

GE jt5000sf2ss Bulb

Hi all,

Trying to figure out how to remove the top GE jt5000sf2ss light bulb, tried pulling it, clockwise turn, nothing works

Looks like a halogen lamp usually they just pull out but sometimes they get stuck from the heat and/or arcing due to poor contact.

You might have to break the lamp and see if you can remove the pins, but you will probably have to replace the socket as it is most likely damaged.

Just grab and pull. I sometimes can't get enough grip with my fingers so I cheat and use pliers. Safety glasses are a good idea because they sometimes shatter when you try removing them.

thanks, I used a flat screwhead to pull it out a bit (but gently) and then pulled it out when I had enough opening (1/4 inch), Fliers was not enough grip

Oh if you actually use another halogen lamp as a replacement don't touch the glass with your fingers as the oils on you fingers & hands will shorten the lamp life by quite a bit as that creates a hot spot, if you do touch it clean if with a soft cloth and alcohol.

I know, I have lots of medical gloves, I do use gloves on all bulbs - Thanks ;-)
