Dishwasher dirty

Hi all! We have a 3 year old Whirlpool dishwasher that gets so filthy within 2 weeks of us cleaning it. I've cleaned the racks, inside, filters, arms, as well as all the piping to and from the sink garbage disposal. We get some sort of slimy orangish residue that forms inside. Any other insight into what I could look at before getting it professionally looked at? Seems like there is a clog or something going on that shouldn't be. TIA!

That seems more like a detergent or water quality issue!

I would try a few different detergents to see if that affects it. That said, I'm guessing it's your water, so you may want to have someone test that.

Have you tried vinegar.

Had a similar thing with ,y daughter's dishwasher.
It was bright almost fluorescent orange. It ended up plugging the drain hose.
Also in my opinion the best detergent is the old fashioned powder.

Thanks for the replies. House is only 3 years old which means brand new softener. Hard our water tested just a few months back and no issues. Will look at trying other detergents.
