Question Freezer in cold garage

I bought a small Whirlpool freezer, (5 c.f.) for food storage and have it plugged in my garage. With winter here in Massachusetts, (Foxborough), the temp dips well below freezing in the garage. Will the cold temp in the garage affect the freezer? I don't want to ruin the freezer if running it in the garage. I looked on the manufacturer's website but there is no information listed about operating temps.
Any guidance/advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you

There has been many similar posts regarding the use of refrigerators and freezers in unconditioned space, some claim that a heater is needed for the compressor. Personally I have never found it to be an issue, I have had several refrigerators and currently have a beverage refrigerator out there for the past 6-7 years, it simply doesn't run in cold weather.

There should not be an issue with a chest freezer.

There can be problems with frost free refrigerators, basically any unit which has automatic defrosting.

As with any appliance you'll get used to hearing it operate. If you hear it clicking excessively (every 5-10 seconds) it means the compressor is not starting properly. At that point you could add a small heat source.
