The ice maker in my side-by-side Whirlpool refrigerator works great except the ice bucket gets a little too full. Any suggestions of how to bend the arm or add something so that the stop point is lower in the bucket?
The ice bucket will fill to the top but then the ice cubes will start to gather towards the access door and a few will fall out. They are higher in the front and lower in the back.
My first hack (see second picture) was a make-shift Styrofoam block zipped tied to the arm. I will try a round piece of 3" - 4" diameter Styrofoam, slit to go around the arm and zip tied. Just need to locate the Styrofoam.

The rinse cycle seems very short, too short. During the rinse cycle, the machine will only agitate clothes for about 45 seconds to 1 minute before going on to drain and then spin cycle. I unscrewed the lid hinges (to bypass lid sensor behind lid), ran a cycle, and watched it with the lid open during the rinse cycle.
Any ideas what the issue might be? The machine is about 12 years old. I'm comfortable working on it, but I haven't started researching this yet. Appreciate any thoughts/input
Edit: That's funny, sounds like maybe it's the timer. I say funny because the part itself costs almost as much as the machine did when new. I know that's just the way things are sometimes. Looking into cracking it open and fixing/cleaning it.Read More
