I looked for hours but didn't find similar post. I want to bypass lid switch at the switch point (can't get top open). There appears to be two gray wires and one clear jacket going into switch. Which two do I connect?
A single grown man with any intelligence is not going to stick their arm in a working washer when you can easily shut it off by pushing in the dial!!! The switch is unnecessary at best...
The washing machine is a Whirlpool Duet, with the model # GHW9150PW0. Here is the prognosis.
1. It started with the error code F11. I handled it by unplugging the power and replugging it after 10 seconds. I was able to resume the cycle.
2. After a few weeks, I got the F DL error at the end of the cycle and was not able to unlock the door. I tried unplugging the power for over an hour to let the machine reset itself. But it didn't work. When I powered it on, the machine seemed to check the door first and then showed the FDL code. Eventually, I took the machine's lower kick panel plate off and unlock the door manually.
3. Now I cannot run any cycle. The machine checked the lock at the beginning of a cycle and gave the FDL code. I ran the Diagnosis Test, which checked the lock first and gave the FDL code too.
What should I do next?
Thanks and Regards,

Tonight I ran the dishwasher, and saw something I've never seen before in the two years we've lived here and owned the dishwasher that came with our house.
There was a rust colored leak in the floor below the left side of the dishwasher. Not a lot of water, but enough.
Upon putting my hand under the bottom of the door, I found it to be wet, and when I dabbed it with paper towels, I got more of the rust colored water.
This is a VERY old General Electric Potscrubber 640 ( model number GSD 640L - 03) that I'm guessing was original to this house. I found a manual for it online, but the trouble shooting section of the manual didn't mention anything about this type of specific problem.
It probably does need to be replaced, but if there is any way to patch it up for the time being, that would be great.
Any thoughts on what could be wrong and what we could try?
Thanks in advance.
