Hi, my old Hotpoint HDA2000F01BB has standing water around the drain that is really nasty. The washer still seems to run fine and the dishes come out clean and dry. The owners manual says some standing water in the bottom of the unit is normal and helps keep the seals lubricated.
I pulled off the drain guard and was able to lift a second plastic piece out of the well. Neither are a particle filter. Does this unit have another filter somewhere I'm overlooking? The factory owners manual did not mention one.
I would think if the manual says the standing water is normal, then it's OK. But the nastiness of the water would bug me.
Can you pour some water down the drain just to clear it out after you do a load?
Model #DSE26JGEBCBB
This morning I found liquid water in the freezer and the unit was making an unusual noise. No indication of a problem on the panel. I cut the breaker for a minute. When it restarted it sounded normal, but after running since then the freezer stabilized at 25°F and refrigerator is 44°. Controls set at 0/37.
It was installed March 2014. Suggestions? Thanks

This terminal is supposed to connect to the heating element of my GE oven. As you can see it's kind of welded out of shape. One of the edges is burnt off. Should I just replace the metal terminal at the end? Part recommendation? And how is this ultimately connected to the heating element? Soldered or clamped on?
